This is a good example of what not to do with crape
myrtle.
The popular misconception is that your should prune a crape myrtle to force more booms because they bloom on new wood. However, the new growth does not have the strength to support the blooms. The new branches weep under the weigh of the flowers, and the character of a beautiful tree is mangled. |
